Yoga as a Path of Interconnection with Carlos Pomeda

May 14-16, 2027

Renowned scholar and teacher Carlos Pomeda brings his depth of wisdom, warmth, and clarity to this year’s yoga conference theme, From Me to We: Yoga as a Path of Connection, Resilience, and Collective Awakening. Carlos will guide participants into the profound yogic teachings of Bheda and Abheda—difference and non-difference—and explore how these timeless teachings can help us navigate the complexity of modern life with greater awareness, compassion, and balance.

In the yogic traditions of Tantra and Vedānta, Bheda acknowledges the reality of diversity, individuality, and the unique expressions of life. We each experience the world through our own perspectives, histories, cultures, and identities. At the same time, Abheda reminds us that beneath these apparent differences lies a deeper unity—an indivisible consciousness that connects all beings and all existence.

In today’s polarized and rapidly changing world, these teachings offer a powerful and healing framework for how we live, relate, and engage with one another. They invite us to move beyond the illusion of separation while still honoring the beauty and complexity of our differences. Through contemplative teachings, self-inquiry, meditation, and practical insight, Carlos explores how yoga becomes a living practice of integration—helping us cultivate steadiness amidst uncertainty, compassionate action amidst division, and a renewed sense of belonging within the greater whole of life.

These sessions are designed not only to deepen philosophical understanding, but also to support participants in embodying these teachings in daily life, relationships, community, and practice. Carlos skillfully bridges ancient wisdom with contemporary relevance, making these teachings accessible, inspiring, and profoundly transformative.

Friday May 14 - 8:30am-10:00am - The Wisdom of Relationship: Yoga Beyond Separation

In this opening session, Carlos Pomeda explores one of the deepest questions of spiritual life: how do we remain connected to one another in times marked by division, isolation, and polarization? Drawing from the teachings of Bheda and Abheda, Carlos examines the yogic understanding that relationship itself is sacred practice. While we experience ourselves as individuals with different stories, identities, and perspectives, yoga reminds us that beneath these differences exists an unbroken field of shared consciousness.

We will explore how the illusion of separation shapes conflict, fear, and disconnection both internally and collectively. This workshop offers a powerful invitation to move beyond reactive patterns and rediscover relationship as a pathway toward empathy, compassion, and awakened living. Participants will leave with a renewed understanding of yoga as a practice that helps us honor diversity while remembering our deeper interconnectedness.

Saturday May 15 - 8:30am-10:00am - The Heart of the Path: Compassion, Courage & Conscious Living

In this session Carlos focuses on the transformative power of compassion as a living yogic practice. In a culture often driven by speed, judgment, and self-protection, yoga calls us to cultivate the courage to remain open-hearted and awake. Through the lens of Bheda and Abheda, participants will explore how compassion arises naturally when we begin to recognize ourselves in one another.

We examine how conscious living is not only about personal well-being, but also about the ways our thoughts, words, and actions affect the greater whole. Carlos weaves together yogic philosophy, contemplative inquiry, and practical wisdom to illuminate how we can respond to life with greater presence, humility, and integrity. Participants will explore how spiritual practice becomes a force for healing—not only within ourselves, but within our communities and relationships as well.

Sunday May 16 - 8:30am-10:00am - Awakening to Wholeness: Yoga as a Path of Collective Transformation

In this session, Carlos leads us into a profound exploration of yoga as a path of collective awakening. Moving beyond the idea of spirituality as an individual pursuit, this workshop invites participants to contemplate how personal transformation and collective healing are deeply intertwined.

Drawing from the wisdom of Bheda and Abheda, Carlos explores how awakening is not about transcending the world, but about participating in it more consciously, compassionately, and fully. Participants will reflect on what it means to live with awareness of both individuality and unity, embracing the paradox that we are at once unique expressions of life and inseparable from the greater whole.

This closing session offers inspiration and practical insight for bringing the teachings of yoga into everyday life—as a way of meeting uncertainty with presence, engaging the world with wisdom, and contributing to a more compassionate and interconnected future.

Join us for a transformative journey into the heart of yoga’s essential teachings—wisdom that speaks across centuries and remains urgently relevant today.
